Each person who experiences trauma, abuse, or abandonment copes with the impact in their own, unique way. Survivors have developed complex systems in order to function and move forward. Later on, these systems can become problematic and self-limiting, as the pain of the traumatic experiences is triggered by life events.
Therapy sessions will provide opportunities to explore the initial traumatic experiences. Individuals will understand the characteristics of trauma and physical, verbal, sexual, and emotional abuse. In a safe and caring therapeutic environment, you will develop healthy boundaries and self-care techniques to overcome the past and acquire strength, resilience, and hope!
